Caroline Barry is a methodologist in biomedical research. She began her research at Paris XI-Orsay University with a PhD in molecular biology and a post-doctorate on the development of methods applied to in silico biological experimentation. In 1997 she became involved in clinical research at GENSET, a genomic biotechnology company in Evry where she contributed to the first French pharmacogenomics programs. She joined INSERM in 2007 to develop the transversal methodology cluster of INSERM Research Unit 1178 at the Maison de Solenn (Paris). She opens up to the fields of epidemiology and human sciences and then specializes in methods of evaluating non-pharmacological interventions. In particular, she participated in the scientific expertise on complementary medicine provided by INSERM at the request of the French Ministry of Health.
